About This Site
This site was started in September 1999 with one goal in mind - to provide event information to motorcyclists in and around Alabama. This event information on this sites spans all forms of motorcycling except MX (there is just too much there to list). If you are looking for a street bike rally you can find it here, if you are looking for sportbike track days you will find it here, if you are looking for enduro info you will find it here, if you are looking for race info you will find it here.
I decided to put this site on the web because it was hard to find rally event information back in 1999 and many of the sites of the web had little content and were usually outdated. I do get behind on updates from time to time but still hold my own with many of the commercial sites. To date maintenance on this site has been significantly interupted twice. The first was when my National Guard unit was activated for duty in Iraq & Kuwait in late 2003 and the second was when my unit was called to active service for Hurricane Katrina relief operations.
Update:
As of 2006 it is a lot easier to find ride/rally info thanks to some good regional motorcycle publications such as Thunder Roads and Full Throttle. I encourage all of you to pick those up at your local shop. I will keep this site up for at least this year and will probably start concentrating on quality links.
Update March 14, 2006:
I was just doing a little search engine surfing to see what sites are listing events in Alabama. The #1 item returned on Google bills itself as the ultimate resource for Alabama bikers yet most of the events listed are in the Northeast and I mean places like New York, not Fort Payne. I wish I could say I was surprised but I've seen the same from many of these sites for years. While I do post the occasional out of state event this site has always concentrated on true Alabama events or neighboring state events that are popular with Alabama riders. Always has, always will.
